World Soil Day is held annually on December 5th to increase soil awareness. This day is:

- to encourage governments, organizations, communities, and individuals worldwide to commit to proactively improving soil health and human well-being
- to address the growing challenges in soil management and fighting soil biodiversity loss
- to keep soil alive and protect the soil biodiversity that aims to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems
