Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame 2023 Inductees

April 18, 2023

The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970. Senator Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day to force this issue onto the national agenda with the protests of the 1960s. At the time, there was no EPA, no Clean Air Act, and no Clean Water Act.

Spring is here! Time for us to enjoy the great weather and the spring wildflowers like bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) and Canada mayflower (Maianthemum canadense). And in a few days, we will celebrate Earth Day – the perfect time to be grateful to those who came before us, including this year’s WCHF inductees.

Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame 2023 Inductees

The 2023 induction events will be held live on a virtual platform on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023.

Each event will be approximately one hour long, highlighting inductee contributions to Wisconsin’s conservation legacy through presentations and will include a live interview with the inductee or their representative.

Ceremony schedule:

2 p.m. Byron Shaw
4 p.m. Michael Dombeck
6 p.m. Mark Martin & Susan Foote-Martin*

Please sign up below. WCHF will send a reminder e-mail with a specific Zoom link (each inductee has their own) one week prior to event. The specific Zoom link will give you access to the live induction ceremony for each inductee.

*Our WOFVA chapter tours had a marvelous time at the Goose Pond Sanctuary in Arlington, Wisconsin. Contact Mark and Sue Martin.
