Prairie Plant Identification in Winter

Besides providing an interesting landscape with its various textures and ever-changing shape, native plantings provide seed and habitat for the birds and other critters throughout the winter. Photo by Steve Maassen.

The December 2017 Natural Shore Technologies newsletter has great photos of some prairie forbs and grasses in winter which would be helpful in identifying these plants. Instead of trying to duplicate the photos in this post, I thought I would just share the link.
