Each week offers one practical, expert-led action. It’s designed to be simple, approachable, and grounded in what actually works across different regions.

The kickoff features Robin Wall Kimmerer, Wild Ones Honorary Director, Potawatomi botanist, and author of several books including Braiding Sweetgrass.

What to expect
By joining the Less Lawn More Life Challenge, you will get a weekly action email, supporting resources, and access to tools such as the Wildr Score, a quick way to assess and track how your space changes over time.
This year also includes new webinars and expert content throughout the season, covering everything from native plants, invasives, water, design, and working with neighbors.

Apply: Native-Plant Experts Wanted
Wild Ones is also supporting a related effort with Wildr, a new native-plant recommendation tool launching this spring. They’re looking for people with real, firsthand experience to help ground-truth plant recommendations.
If you are someone who knows your region’s native plants well, you can apply to be a Wildr Expert (takes about a minute).
You will join thousands of other experts across America, helping to shape the future of habitat restoration. Fun, low-commitment, and a real impact on what millions of homeowners plant in their yards!
Accepted experts will:
- Review plant recommendations for their region
- Add species the tool may be missing
- Receive an in-app expert badge with weighted input
