
How to gather seeds for native plants? Now is the time to gather the seeds from the native plants when they fall easily from the plant. The seeds are usually ripe when the seed pods turn from green to brown, and the stems holding the seed heads become brown and dry.
And with some plants, such as the white wild indigo (Baptisia alba macrophylla), the seed capsule opens.
