American Bison is America’s Newest National Mammal

On May 10, 2016, President Obama signed the National Bison Legacy Act into law. The American Bison joins the Bald Eagle as one of the official symbols of the USA. Like the Bald Eagle, the American Bison was nearly extinct due to human lack of concern about the natural world and the role nature plays in our very existence. Congratulations! to those of us who know we are all part of that web of life.
