A Winter’s Storm

January 30, 2024

I woke up in the morning to see snow on January 10, 2024. I waited until the snow stopped. Camera in hand, I walked to the patio to take some photos. I was a bit surprised to see that the trees were covered with snow from trunk to branches. It must have been snow-packed and windy.

From my backyard.
From my backyard.
From my frontyard.

Then I walked to the front of the house and saw the trees were bare! What the heck!!

Looking toward the frontyard.

I turned on the weather report, and they said it was a northeast wind, 25 to 35 mph. So I figured out that the trees looking from the road back to the house, would be different. And they were.

The collapsed apple tree under the snow.

P.S. The collapsed apple tree. It’s a McIntosh, and it’s a lovely apple tree. So do I get some apples this year? We will see.

Read about the storm we had.

Your yard has lovely views! Or maybe it’s your photographer’s eye that finds them.

Glad you like it, M. Remember when you had trees come down, too? I was devastated, but the prairie took over — Donna
