The 2016 Loess Hills Prairie Seminar to be held June 3-5 focuses on the “Fascinations of the Loess Hills.” With this seminar, sponsored annually by the Northwest Area Education Agency, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Monona County Conservation, they are celebrating its 40th year.
Featured speakers are Connie Mutel, Douglas Tallamy and James Locklear plus leaders from Iowa organizations involved in prairie and natural area preservation. There will be 40 field sessions near the campgorund area at the Loess Hills Wildlife Management Area northeast of Onawa/Sylvan Runkel State Preserve. Campfire programs at night and also blacklight activities with Douglas Tallamy and MJ Hatfield.
